Undrained trapdoor and tunnel face stability revisited

چکیده
In this study, closed-form solutions are presented for two classical problems: the load exerted on strip or circular trapdoors and stability of tunnel headings in purely cohesive soils, considering both case a constant undrained shear strength linear vertical profile. The based minor modification Gunn's lower-bound plasticity solution. According to comparative numerical stress analyses finite-element limit analyses, proposed equations accurately estimate trapdoor loads face support pressures soils with uniform strength, while they slightly conservative depth-dependent strength. Thus, appropriate assessment underground structures saturated, low-permeability subjected short-term loading exhibiting – which, so far, has only been possible numerically.

Certifying Trapdoor Permutations, Revisited
The modeling of trapdoor permutations has evolved over the years. Indeed, finding an appropriate abstraction that bridges between the existing candidate constructions and the needs of applications has proved to be challenging. In particular, the notions of certifying permutations (Bellare and Yung, 96), enhanced and doubly enhanced trapdoor permutations (Goldreich, 04, 08, 11, Goldreich and Rot...
متن کاملStability of Undrained Deformation of Fluid-saturated Geo-materials
The presence of pore fluids in geomaterials can alter deformation processes and facilitate or delay material failure. Dilation/contraction of geomaterials in the course of inelastic undrained deformation causes a reduction/increase in pore pressure altering the effective compressive stress. This results in an increase/decrease in shear stress that can be sustained by the material over the corre...

متن کاملRoof Tunnel Stability by Wedge Analysis
A jointed rock mass presents a more complex design problem than the other rock masses. The complexity arises from the number (greater than two) of joint sets which define the degree of discontinuity of medium. The condition that arises in these types of rock masses is the generation of discrete rock blocks, of various geometries. They defined by the natural fracture surfaces and the excavation...
